The Intel® Composer XE 2013 SP1 is introducing a GUI installer(--gui-mode) on Linux ,and with the online installation ,you can only download and install the only components you selected to be installed ,which avoids the full package downloading and saves the installation time.
For Linux - GUI installation is the default if the customer’s environment supports graphics. Otherwise command line installation is the default. Users with graphics support who want a command line install can use the option “--cli-mode”.
First ,it equires an internet connection, may require proxy setting. For details, see http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/how-to-set-system-proxy .It should be mentioned that internet connection speed will impact installation time.
And ,after starting to download from the registration center ,you will be asked to choose root、 sudo or normal user installations.
Be aware that for root or sudo installations, the environment variable values need to be set accordingly as the above weblink said. After chooing your interested components selected to be installed ,then the GUI installer would automatically do the rest for you.
